A recent car accident injured three people in one vehicle and resulted in careless driving charges for a man from Pennsylvania.
The man who allegedly caused the crash was driving a ten-year-old Corvette, while the other occupants were in a 2002 Ford F-150. The sports car apparently crossed a double yellow line and then slammed into the pickup truck. That truck had recently driven through an intersection and did not appear to do anything to cause the crash.
What did happen was that the impact spun the heavy pickup truck and sent it sliding into a curb. For a top-heavy vehicle, hitting a curb is a major issue, and that was illustrated perfectly as the pickup rolled.
The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old man, hurt his arm in the crash. A passenger who was riding in the front seat hurt their arm and their nose. A passenger who was in the back seat injured their neck, head and back so severely that they had to be taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
No injuries were reported to the driver of the smaller vehicle, which is surprising. The investigation is ongoing, but the police have charged that driver with careless driving since he did not properly stay in his own lane. It will be interesting to see if the investigation leads to any further charges or conclusions about what happened.
Accident stories like this always show just how fast life-changing events can happen. These unexpected events can lead to serious injuries and financial losses, and those who get hurt must understand their legal rights to seek out compensation.
